I am finding the cheapest and best way to cash off a credit card; due to charges and high interest on a cash advance; the best method would to use something that counts as a purchase?
Possible Uses;
PayPal (do charge 3.4%)
Buying a Pre-paid credit or sterling travel card – I think most of these do charge high fees
or somehow set a web site that will “test” credit card payments without fee; allowing you to send the cash to your bank account?
If anybody has tried the methods above; or know any other; the information will be helpful.
UK based only really!!
Credit Cash Advance will typically get you charged 2.5% by the Credit Card Co.
I’ve not found anywhere that you can ‘buy’ money except as a cash advance (even Travel Ex etc. at the airport, where you buy foreign currency, it gets charged to your card as a ‘Cash Advance’ )
About the only trick I can suggest is buy something from M&S and take it back and see if you can convince them to give you cash instead of refunding your card (somehow I doubt it == retailers will be paying 2-3% to the Credit card Co. so they will want to recover that by doing a charge back). …
Of course if you have a DEBIT (as opposed to CREDIT) Card there’s no charge for cash (there’s all the ‘hole in the wall’ ATM’s plus most Supermarkets will do ‘cash back’ at the till).

I want to pay off the finance on my car using a credit card that I got with 0% APR for 13 months but the company won’t accept a credit card only a debit card. Is there any way I can get around this?
The charges for the card you have are set, and if you get a cash advance, you’ll be charged. The car loan company won’t accept a credit card because they get charged a percentage of the amount (typically 1.5%) by their merchant services company (bank) for processing the transaction. On a debit card, they get charged a fixed amount of a few pence, and its worth them swallowing that charge.
The only way I can see you getting round that charge is to take out a card that has 0% on Money Transfers (as opposed to just balance transfers), and I think the MBNA Platinum Plus is the only card at the moment that offers this. See details at the top of the table

I know how horrible it is to get a cash advance because of the interest rates but I’m desperate.
I don’t have a PIN for my card and I can’t set it up over the phone, they would need to mail it to me and I don’t have that kind of time.
I’ve read to go to your bank and get an advance, but I’m with Bank of America but my credit card is a citi credit card and I don’t know if I’d be able to go there or not.
If anybody can give me any advice I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.
I’ve searched all around for a quick cash advance online, and the best one I found, and that I’ve used a several times was http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Payday-Loan.html – the interest rate is acceptable and they put the funds in by the next day. I hope this helps you, best of luck!

I just recently got out of a 5 year relationship.. We were having some financial troubles. So I pulled out 3 cash advances, thinking he would help me pay them off. Well since we seperated, I tried calling him to see if he was going to help me make these "payments." No awnser. So now I am stuck with 3 cash advances!! It was dumb on my part, for looking there, but it was the only way. Any suggestions on paying these down/off asap?? I need these to be paid off soon, my boss is selling our office, so I may very well be unemployed soon. Thanks guys!
if your boyfriend is on the loan apps. then he is responsible as well.
ask the companies you have the loans with if they do pay downs. that means say you owe 500.00 you pay that then they will then move your limit to 400.00 you pay that then you move to 300.00 and so on.
it takes a while if you do not have the funds for a total payoff but at least its something. you might want to think about borrowing the money and paying it off totally. If that is not an option then a pay down is pretty much the only way.

Here’s my question. I can get $15,000 through my credit card at 0% for 6 months with only paying a 3% fee. That’s $450. Is there something I could invest in that would bring me in more money than the $450 that I would have to pay to get out the money?
An absolute terrible idea. Anyone suggesting anything else either doesn’t have your best interest in mind…. or they are ignorant.

I have an emergency and need to get cash from my credit card. However, I have reached my cash advance limit. I have plenty available on my purchase limit. Please advise?
If Reena’s idea doesn’t work, I have another possible solution for you.
Find a friend who is about to make a large purchase. Offer to put their purchase on your credit card if they will pay you up front less 10-15% for the item. It’s a win-win. They save some money and you get the cash you need.
Beware The Costs Of Short Term Cash Advance Loans

Cash advance loans are generally short term loans for small amounts, and typically it won’t exceed $500. Cash advance loans are often referred to as payday loans, check advance loans, deferred deposit check loans or post-dated check loans. All of these variations are based on the value of your next paycheck. These loans can often be obtained from check cashers and other finance companies.
Lately these types of loans have been featured in radio and television ads, and it’s even being promoted on the Internet and using email campaigns. With all this exposure, it’s natural that many people will consider using a cash advance when they are in some financial difficulty. Unfortunately this is not the way to get ahead financially. Although these loans are designed to provide you with quick and easy credit, they are prohibitively expensive and will worsen your financial fortunes over the long term.
Applying for a short term cash advance loan is actually pretty easy. Usually you only need identification, a bank account and proof of employment. The way it often works is that you write the loan company a check for the amount you want to borrow plus the lending fee they charge. The lender will then give you the cash for the agreed amount and will hold and cash your check after you next payday.
Naturally, because of the ease and convenience, you should expect to pay a high interest rate or fee on a cash advance loan. Short term lenders may charge anything from $15 to $50 for every $90 borrowed. You may want to compare the rates and fees of different lenders before going to the first place you come across.
As the borrower you do have a few options: first you can let the financing company cash the check you gave them and that way pay of the loan, next you could go to the cash advance store and pay the amount owed in person, or you can ask them to extend the loan, up to two times. However, extending the loan will naturally mean that you will have to pay the lender’s fee again. And as you would know by now, that will become very expensive. Experts content that borrowers often end up paying almost as much as they originally borrowed in fees.
Given all this information, you can see for yourself that using a short term cash advance loan is not the most prudent way of borrowing money. Therefore, you should consider other options first, such as getting a small loan from a credit union, ask your employer for an advance, or ask friends and family. These options might give you the opportunity to raise the cash you need, without having to pay the high costs involved in cash advance loans.

Advance Cash Payday Loan – a Quick Cash Advance in Times of Need

Life throws sudden storms at us while we are making other plans. An advance cash payday loan online can come as a blessing in disguise to help us through those sudden storms life sometimes throws at us. A cash payday loan online is a small amount of cash, generally ranging from $100-$1500, that you can borrow against your next paycheck. In other words, your next paycheck acts as collateral for the loan. On your next payday, the lending company withdraws the loan amount and the loan fees from your bank account. Hence, a payday loan online is also a very short term loan.
Why Would I Need a Short-term Loan?
Financial emergencies never warn before they befall on anyone. There could be a sudden unforeseen medical requirement or some unexpected repair work required urgently. And you might not have the necessary amount of cash in your bank account at that time. An advance payday loan online can provide you that extra financial help at that time.
Or perhaps, you went out for the weekend with your family and got mugged on the way. Lost $500 in one instant! The amount may or may not be recovered eventually, but at that point of time, you are forced to withdraw another 500 bucks from your bank account, an amount which you had kept aside to pay off your credit card balance at the end of the month.
A cash advance can save you from paying the late payment charges on your credit card. And it can also prevent your credit rating from going down due to no fault of yours.
What Does It Cost to Get An Online Payday Loan?
Compared to traditional long-term loans, an advance cash payday loan is pretty expensive. The loan fee varies from $10 to $30; averaging around $18 generally; on every $100 that you borrow for 2 weeks. That gives Annual Percent Rates of over 300%. But, online payday loan companies say that their costs are not to be compared with long-term loans, as they are not lending money on long-term basis. Their loans are meant to cover emergency needs only and, ideally, the payday cash advance loan should be repaid in full on the borrower’s subsequent payday.
They say that if an $18 worth advance cash payday loan can save you $26 worth late payment fee on your credit card, or a $48 bank charge on a bounced check, for the same period on the same amount, it is worth every single cent! So just use it judiciously and make your full repayments on time.
